Here at Skin Cancer and Anti-ageing Clinic in Brisbane – Pacific Medical Laboratories and Services, all our programs are supervised by Dr Mileham Hayes OAM, MB, BS (Q), FRCP (Edin), FRCP (Lon). Dr Hayes, by studying and practising in Brisbane, Sydney, London and Edinburgh brings and extensive breadth of experience now denied the recent medical graduate. Dr Hayes was resident Medical Officer at Australia’s first Coronary Care Unit (Sydney Hospital), Medical and Skin Registrar at Greenslopes Hospital with further studies in skin as part of his specialist training in Edinburgh and London. He has undergone advanced skin surgical training as well as the International Master Class in dermoscopy. He is a member of the Australian Skin Cancer Society and College. As a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of both London and Edinburgh his training encompasses a broad spectrum of medicine. His passion and Specialty is Preventive Medicine. To that end he has written a number of books covering all aspects of the illnesses that are most likely to affect us which can be prevented. The Diet that Works published by Penguin in 1999. His latest books are on Preventive Medicine covering a range of topics and available through our clinics or mail order.
He conducts Seminars, Workshops, Lectures and Talks for both the public and organizations such a Qantas. He explains in his seminars how he has made all the mistakes possible and does not claim any superiority but rather the reverse. He is, however, extremely grateful to see Preventive Medicine finally achieve the promise he predicted in Edinburgh in the early 70s, which allows him to still live an amazingly full life.
As a medical student he played top class rugby, tennis and cricket as well as playing jazz. He had his own ABC Radio Program and his own national TV series where he was labelled ‘Dr Jazz’. He represented Australia at the first Commonwealth festival of Arts and has toured extensively overseas. His Gold Coast Jazz and Blues Festival won the Queensland Tourism Award in 1996 sharing it with the Indy 500.
He is married with 5 children.
